Competence that moves.

This principle guides the Werthenbach Group in their dealings with customers. When Carl Werthenbach took over representation for Nüral-Kolben and chanced the move into self-employment in 1932 - during an economically difficult time - he never dreamed what his one-man business would develop into over the next decades.

The Werthenbach range was continuously expanded through numerous new product groups, representatives and distribution centres and adapted to changing market conditions. Werthenbach recognised early on that a dynamic business policy geared toward expansion could only be successful if the growth was based upon a broad foundation and supported by a well-rounded product range for a wide spectrum of customers in the automotive and industrial branches.

Over the years our sales structure has crystallised into three main divisions:

Automotive Spare Parts and Engine Parts

Industrial Products

Industrial Hydraulics

The Industrial Hydraulics Division, run as its own department since 1962, experienced such development that separation became unavoidable in 1973. Since that time it has functioned as an independent subsidiary on the market.

Right about this time, the management of the company was seamlessly handed down to the next generation. Michael Werthenbach joined the company in 1971 and took over as Managing Director in 1974. Thus, the course was set for numerous activities that would contribute to strengthening the market position.

The Werthenbach company expansionism was best expressed in the founding of an independent subsidiary company in Hanover-Langenhagen in 1976.

Various building projects contributed again and again to increasing space requirements for the expanding company. Today 13 Werthenbach buildings cover an area that reaches from the Ruhrgebiet (Ruhr Valley) to the new German federated states and are available to a continuously growing list of regular customers. A considerable share of the Werthenbach Group’s success is due to our qualified employees. Some 500 employees, many of whom have been with the Werthenbach company for many years, are a good indicator of our commitment to performance and the friendly company atmosphere.
