Assembly tools are used for the simple assembly and disassembly of the retaining rings.
Retaining washers (German national standard DIN 6799) are placed on shafts, as shaft securing rings. They are standardized according to the German national standard DIN 6799 and appropriate for smaller shafts. These discs are pushed into the groove of the shaft to carry out the assembly.
Securing rings are machine elements for the retaining of bolts in axial direction. Inner securing rings (German national standard DIN 472) are suitable for a drilling assembly (with ends pointing towards inside) and outer securing rings (German national standard DIN 471) for a shaft assembly ( with ends pointing towards outside).
Support discs are used in the same application area as the shim rings, but they are hardened.
Shim washers are cylindrical standard parts used according to the German national standard DIN 988. Available in various combinations of inside and outside diameters as well as thicknesses. Shim washers are suitable to adjust or to fill spaces between round components.
A snap ring is a specially shaped retaining ring and suits to fix a component in axial direction. It must ensure a good form closure in the machine manufacture. The snap ring itself consists of a spring steel wire with an uniform cross-section, which is bended into a ring.
