Maintaining belt tension
Maintaining the correct belt tension is often key to ensuring a long service life. And even when the pre-tension is right, it's what's inside that counts. Whether your belt is toothed or wedge-shaped, round or flat, it's only as good as the internal strap that holds it together. So what's the right belt for you? Like so many things, it's a question of character. But don't worry - we know what makes our belts tick, and will find the right belt for your application.
Belt tensioners
Belt tensioners enable belts to rotate quietly and with low wear. They mount the belt in the application on voltage and ensure perfect rotors and thus a long service life.
Application: In many industrial drives in which belts are used.
Conveyor belts
Conveyor belts are made of chemical- and abrasion-resistant materials and are available in numerous versions. They are made of antistatic properties and low-noise operation and offer additional flame-retardant or energy-saving features. These properties make them ideal for demanding applications. Conveyor belts are suitable for a variety of general conveying tasks, including induction, transfer, and check-out, as well as sorting, dosage, inspection, and packaging.
Applications: Conveyor belts can be found in almost all industries, including airports, distribution centers, the electronics industry, agriculture, as well as the production of plasterboard and wood panels.
Flat timing belts
Flat belts are flat, flexible tapes that are used to transmit movement and force between two shafts. They are often consisting of rubber or other elastic materials.
Applications: Machines, conveyor systems or gears to transmit rotary movements. They are used in production plants, e.g. in the food, textile, pressure, paper, wood and automotive industries

Guides for v-belts, round- and timing belts
Belt guides or slide profiles are made of various plastics and are usually electrically conductive. They guide long and narrow conveyor belts in industry and are used to prevent the belts from slipping sideways in order to convey the quality safely.
Applications: Food, automotive and general engineering industries
Link V-belts
The link v-belt piece goods have been specially developed for use in emergencies or in drives that are heavy to access. They offer the option of shortening the belt individually to the desired length and can be fitted quickly and single without having to disassemble the system. The possible quick replacement of defective links significantly minimizes the downtime of machines. Link v-belts are applicable in a wide range of applications and are used in mechanical engineering. In the iron and food industry, in steel processing as well as in woodworking machines. Their advantages lie in their single mounting without tools, their oil-resistant properties and their wide temperature range of -40 °C up to + 100 °C
Applications: Industrial manufacturing, automotive industry, air and aerospace, energy industry, household appliances, like washing machines, tumble dryers, compressors, roller conveyor drives
Machine tapes
Machine tapes are usually consisting of Hamid, polyamide and polyurethane and are produced with an NBR coating, for example. These machine belts have a high service life and offer constant adhesion.
Applications: Machine belts are mostly used in the paper and printing industry.
Modular belts
Plastic modular belts offer a long service life and high strength, as well as quick and single repair and maintenance options. They are available in a big range of colours and materials. They do not need to be pre-stressed and are also highly resistant to tracking errors, even at strong contaminations. They are applicable in environments with a large temperature range (-70 °C up to +240 °C) and are resistant to chemicals. Modular belts are single to repair and therefore offer low machine downtimes.
Applications: food industry, automotive industry, tire industry,
Power belts (banded V-belt)
Power belts or also composite V-belts are especially suitable for insertion in drives with high vibration and shock loads. Individual V-belts or narrow V-belts of the same length are connected together by a common cover plate to form a power belt. It is now impossible for the belt to twist sideways or slip out of the belt pulley, no matter how pronounced the vibrations are, e.g. on a shredder or mulcher, to name just two examples. The tension members of composite V-belts are usually made of polyseter, sometimes also with obscured aramid. Power belts enable a long service life, favorable running behavior at vibrations, high operational reliability, improved sustainability by energy efficiency.
Applications: Power belts or banded V-belts are used in many drives, e.g. in general mechanical engineering, mining, the wood industry, the food industry, brick presses, paper mills and sorting plants.
Round belts
Round belts are marked by their high flexibility and can be bent in all directions, which makes them ideal for insertion in angled drive systems. Thanks to their elasticity, they require no additional clamping devices. This elasticity also allows them to dampen short-term overloads and joints better than other types of drive. One well-known example of the use of round belts is tray returns in canteens. They are also frequently found in the industrial range, for example in the many roller conveyors.
Applications: They are used both as drive and transport belts in general mechanical engineering, canteens and production plants.
Spindle tapes
Spindle tapes are mostly used in the textile industry because this is where they can develop their full power. They are made of polyamide or polyester and are therefore cost-efficient and durable. Spindle tapes prevent fiber accumulation and are therefore maintenance-free and usable in textile production. With spindle tapes, a uniform yarn quality can be expected.
Applications: Textile industry
Tensioning rollers for
Belt tensioners are systems used in belt drives and deflection mechanisms. They increase the wrap angle, which enables the transmission of higher power or a more compact design. At the same time, they compensate for operational elongation of the belts, allow for shorter center distances and reduce wear on the drive.
Application: They are used in every industrial application in which wedges and toothed belts are inserted.
Timing belts
Timimg belts, also known as synchronous or timing belts, are drive belts with one toothing that run positively in belt pulleys. These belts combine the properties of chains and flat belts and prevent any slippage by toothing. Toothed belts have applications in various control systems, like valve control, for example. Power is transmitted in the toothed belt by means of an embedded, rigid tensile member, which is usually made of glass or aramid fibres; in particularly powerful versions, these are also made of steel or carbon The inside of the toothed belt is coated with an abrasion-resistant fabric to protect the teeth from wear.
Applications: Automotive industry, mechanical engineering, pressure, packaging and textile industry, medical technology, agriculture, robotics, electrical industry
Tools belts
In belt technology, a wide range of tools are available for the correct mounting of belt technology products: The laser alignment device, for example,is used for precise alignment of the belt pulley. This avoids angular errors or parallel misalignment. Measuring aids, voltage testers and other assembly aids are also available.
Applications: The belt technology tools are applicable for safe and correct mounting of Pirmentechnik products.
V-Belt pulleys and timing belt pulleys
No belt works without the appropriate discs. They are needed to transfer the force onto the belt, to take it up or only to redirect the belt. Belt pulleys are available in various designs for a wide range of belts: Toothed belts, V-belts, V-ribbed belts and others.
Applications: Wherever one rotors a belt, you also need at least one disc. Used in mechanical engineering, the food industry and conveyor technology.
V-belt
The V-belt, tensioned on belt pulleys, e.g. between two axles, has a trapezoidal form, which generates significantly higher friction and is the basis for non-positive power transmission at drives. This also explains why a V-belt can only transmit full power if the belt pulley in which it rotors is 100% intact. If this is ensured, the V-belt drive impresses by its excellent lateral stability and does what it is designed to do: transmit force. It doesn't matter whether it is at the generator, in the hydraulic pump, in a fan or in a water pump. The main thing is that it can show its strong side or also slip when there is a lack of grip!
Applications: Industrial manufacturing, automotive industry, air and aerospace, energy industry, household appliances, fan drives, compressors, lawnmowers
V-ribbed belts
V-ribbed belts are similar, but not the same as v-belts, which are also used for force-locking power transmission at drives, but are wider and flatter. The geometry of the belt - mainly flatter than a v-belt - makes them more flexible in terms of dimensioning and therefore ideal for small installation spaces, so also suitable for washing machines or tumble dryers and of course for compressors or roller conveyor drives.
Applications: Industrial manufacturing, automotive industry, air and aerospace, energy industry, household appliances, like washing machines, tumble dryers, compressors, roller conveyor drives
